Abstract
I can’t access your data.
I can’t compare my data with others.
I can’t find useful data on the web.
I can’t understand other languages.
Have you had experienced some problems of archaeological information? Then join us! In this session, we would like to present why we have such problems and to introduce some possible solutions. In particular, the concepts of standards, metadata, thesauri, and interoperability will be discussed in the context of cultural heritage documentation. In addition, introduction to the state-of-the-art web technologies with theoretical and practical examples will be provided. At the end of the session, the audience will become familiar with various aspects of archaeological information sharing and be able to start contemplating the tomorrow’s documentation methodologies. We also would like to invite the participants to share their experience and to discuss about the issues in order to find a good practice of information sharing for archaeology. The target audience would be students and archaeologists from all over the world, but the in-depth knowledge of technologies/archaeology is not required. Archaeological information is not for one, it is time to let it fly.
